Professor Roland Wiesendanger becomes International Science Scout

The Alexander von Humboldt Foundation has introduced the new Henriette Herz-Scouting-Program this year in order to identify excellent international researchers via “Scouts” who have a proven record in supporting young scientists and offering them the best possible academic career opportunities. After the first round of a very competitive Peer-Review evaluation, Professor Wiesendanger is now among the first “International Science Scouts” who can directly nominate excellent young international researchers for the prestigious Alexander von Humboldt Fellowships. The group of Professor Wiesendanger at the University of Hamburg offers outstanding research infrastructure in the field of nanoscience since almost 30 years. About 300 young researchers from 30 different countries have already worked together with Professor Wiesendanger at the forefront of science and technology at the nanoscale. They all got excellent positions in academia or industry. The group is now looking forward to the new generation of excellent young scientists coming to Hamburg in the framework of the new Henriette Herz-Scouting Program of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation.
