23.3.2006, 15:30 Jungiusstr. 9, Hörsaal III | SFB 668 - Kolloquium Prof. Dr. Tomi Ohtsuki (Sophia University, Tokyo, Japan): The Quantum Network Model and Its Symmetry PropertiesNetwork models have been attracting considerable interest due to their simplicity and generality. Especially, quantum network models are suitable for numerical studies. In this talk, we review the quantum network models and numerical methods to study them. We focus on the transfer matrices that relate the current fluxes in different layers of a system. We emphasize the symmetry properties of the transfer matrices and their consequences for eigenvalue and transport properties. Possible application to the random bond Ising model as well as transport through an assembly of magnetic scatterers will be discussed. |
